So excited to announce my collaboration with Nena & Co. I am so inspired by founder Alejandra’s passion for keeping the beautiful traditions of her Mayan culture alive. Ale and I immediately bonded over our love for travel and all things colorful. But when I heard the amazing story of how each bag was created and the time and energy put into each handwoven piece, I knew I wanted to somehow be part of her amazing journey.
Nena & Co. works directly with a group of 12 mayan women in Chichcastenago, Guatemala who have been born into the craft of weaving by birthright. I was beyond excited to be able to work with Ale in hand picking the color pallet and custom weave that accents my bag. It takes about one hour to complete a single yard of this custom fabric.
Each bag is hand made with love and will no doubt be your perfect travel companion for years to come! My first adventure with my bag was traveling through Morocco, stay tuned for our next destination…
